FOUNDER & COORDINATOR

I’m Vanja, a philology master from Novi Sad and a proud alum of Karlovac Gymnasium. I earned my teaching degree in 2009 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. I’ve been passionate about languages since elementary school, and that passion grew into a deep interest in linguistics. I’m fluent in English and Russian, practice them daily, and also study Spanish, French, Italian, Macedonian, Latin, and Old Church Slavonic.

For over 18 years, I’ve been teaching Serbian as a foreign language. During that time, I’ve taught more than 1,000 students aged 3 to 70, sharing not just knowledge about the Serbian language, culture, and traditions, but also my love for learning languages in general.

Valesco is all about sharing our passion for understanding how different languages work (like why some languages have cases and others don’t), showing the real link between culture and grammar (“the language reflects the people”), and teaching you to use language logically—expressing yourself naturally with words and sentences instead of memorizing ready-made phrases.
